Understanding Snappic Events

In Snappic, an Event is a configuration of settings and graphics scheduled to run from a start date to an end date. The Event is created in your Snappic account and then loaded onto the iPad. Once that Event is loaded, all photos captured in Snappic will be saved under that Event. It is important to understand this because the LoopOS integration connects to an Event, and it can only connect to one Event at a time. Meaning it can only display a real-time feed in your loops for one Event at a time.

If you are running Snappic in your practice, it is recommended that you have one Event running long-term for in-office use, and to use separate Events for any out-of-office use. The primary in-office Event should be connected to your LoopOS account.

Configuring Your Snappic Account

Snappic has two package options: Pro and Enterprise. LoopOS is compatible with both, however, if you have the Pro package, you will need to implement a onetime upgrade to enable the Microsite feature. At the time of this writing, the cost for the Microsite feature is $19. This is handled through your Snappic account. If you are using Snappic's Enterprise package then you already have access to the Microsite feature.

Keep in mind, Microsite is enabled per Event, so only an Event with the Microsite feature can be connected to your LoopOS account.

Follow these steps to enable Microsite for an Event:

  1. Login to your Snappic account.
  2. Select an existing Event or Create an Event.

  1. For the Event you have selected/created, scroll down to the Event Options and select Edit.

  1. Select the Microsite feature and follow the onscreen prompts. You will be redirected to the Microsite settings.

  1. Select the Upload button to upload a background image for the integration. This is the background that will appear in the Snappic feed for your loop. You can download pre-made backgrounds HERE, or create your own.

  1. Select a Template.

If you would like DSID to create a template on your behalf, you can do so under the Request tab in your LoopOS account.
