Factory Reset BrightSign

A factory reset restores a BrightSign device to its default settings while also reinstalling LoopOS.

To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the BrightSign device.
  2. Disconnect the power cable from the device. If there is no power cable or if the the device continues to have power after removing the power cable, also disconnect the Ethernet (network) cable from the device.
  3. Remove the microSD card from the device by pressing it inwards to release it (removal of microSD cover plate may be necessary).
  4. With the microSD card removed, and ensuring the device has no power, hold down the SVC and Reset buttons at the same time. While still holding these buttons, connect power to the system and wait for about 5 seconds.

  1. A red light should begin rapidly flashing on the LED panel. When you see this red flashing light, release your fingers from the SVC and Reset buttons. (The location of the light will vary depending on the device model).
  2. Reinsert the microSD card into the card slot. It will click when secured.
  3. If you removed the Ethernet (network) cable during the factory reset process, make sure it is reconnected.

Once the factory reset is successfully initiated, the device will restart several times. You may see setup messages appear on your screens during this process.

After about 5 minutes, the reset should be complete and the presentation should resume.
