Upgrading to LoopOS
If you are already a DSID customer and are upgrading your system(s) to LoopOS, you will need to follow this four phase process.
Please note, prior to beginning this process, you should have in your possession an upgrade SD card shipped from DSID for each system being upgraded, or you will need a micro SD card reader and access to a desktop computer where you can copy files onto each micro SD card for the systems being upgraded.
Phase 1: Remove existing microSD card(s)
- Locate your BrightSign player(s). If you are unsure of the location(s), check behind TV screens or in the server closet. Contact your IT/AV professional if they handled installation.
- Power off the BrightSign system by disconnecting the power cord. If lights are still visible on the system after removing the power cord or no power cord is present, remove the ethernet cord.
- Remove the microSD card by pressing on it until it clicks. Then pull the microSD card out the rest of the way and put aside. A mini screw driver may be needed if the SD card cover is on.

- Contact DSID Support to confirm that all systems being upgraded are powered off and have their microSD cards removed.
- If you have elected to not purchase upgrade SD cards and prefer to copy files onto the SD card(s) yourself, this is a good time to do so. Follow these instructions.
- Wait for DSID Support to provide approval to continue to next step. If you do not contact DSID prior to phase 2 of the upgrade process, the upgrade may not be successful.
Phase 2: Factory reset system(s)
- Ensuring no microSD card is in the system, hold down the SVC and Reset buttons at the same time. While still holding these buttons, connect power to the system and wait for about 5 seconds. Under the Err light indicator, a red light should begin rapidly flashing on the LED panel. When you see this red flashing light, release your fingers from the SVC and Reset buttons.
- Wait for the factory reset to complete. Once factory reset is complete, the system should show a BrightSign logo on the screen with system info (serial number, MAC address, OS version).
Phase 3: Upgrade and pairing
- Ensure network ethernet cable is connected to BrightSign system. System must have an internet connection for the upgrade to work successfully.
- Insert upgrade microSD card or microSD card which you copied files onto (step 4) into the BrightSign system.
- After a minute or two, a pairing screen should load displaying a code.
- Contact DSID Support and provide them with the pairing code(s). Each system being upgraded will have its own unique pairing code.
- If no pairing code is visible, or a message stating “Network Error” appears, contact DSID Support.
Phase 4: Finalizing upgrade
- Once Support receives your pairing code, your system will reset several times. You may see a screen stating “Partner Application Install in Progress”.
- Once complete, your system will resume playing content.
- To control your content and manage systems, login to your account at https://loop.dsid.com or go to https://dsid.com and click on Login, then select LoopOS.
- If you are unsure of your login details or require assistance, contact DSID Support.
