What you'll need

Do you already have a TV screen?
| ✓ Yes — TV already in place | + No — Need to purchase a TV |
| Skip to the DSID device placement section. As long as the TV has an available HDMI input and is mounted or positioned at the display location, you're ready to proceed. | See the TV selection guidance below before purchasing. Any modern consumer-grade TV is sufficient for a typical waiting room environment. |
Selecting a Screen
Recommended brands
Any current model from LG, Samsung, or Sony will work well. These brands offer reliable performance, good picture quality, and wide availability. All current models are 4K by default, which is perfectly suited for DSID content.
Choosing the right size
Screen size should match the space. Use the following as a general guide based on average viewing distance:
| Viewing Distance | Recommended Size |
| 6 - 8 feet | 43" - 50" |
| 8 - 12 feet | 55" - 65" |
| 12+ feet | 65" or larger |
Wall Mount
DSID Device Placement
In most installations, the DSID device mounts directly behind the TV. It is small enough to fit behind virtually any flat panel display, regardless of model. This keeps the installation clean and self-contained.
If your TV is recessed into the wall, there will not be sufficient clearance behind the screen. In this case, place the DSID device in one of the following locations instead:
- A cabinet or credenza positioned below or adjacent to the TV.
- On the opposite side of the wall the TV is mounted on, if accessible.
Internet Access
Wired ethernet (Strongly recommended)
A wired ethernet connection is the preferred method. It provides the most stable and reliable connection for your display. You will need an ethernet wall jack (ethernet drop) accessible at or near the TV location.
If an ethernet drop does not currently exist at the TV location, most IT professionals can run one. This work typically involves access to your network infrastructure and is generally beyond the scope of DSID's on-site installation services.
WiFi (Last resort)
WiFi is supported but treated as a secondary option due to potential pairing complexity and connection stability concerns in busy office environments. If wired ethernet is not possible, contact us before proceeding — WiFi support requires a separate adapter that must be installed and configured prior to shipping your device.

Installation
- Mount the TV and wall mount (if not already in place).
- Connect the DSID device to a power outlet.
- Connect the DSID device to the ethernet wall jack using an ethernet cable.
- Connect the DSID device to the TV using the included 6 ft HDMI cable.
- Power on the TV and select the correct HDMI input.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to pair the device to your LoopOS account.
If you prefer a fully managed installation, DSID partners with Snap Install, a nationwide network of AV technicians who can provide turnkey on-site installation services. Please note that Snap Install engagements typically involve two visits: an initial site assessment and a follow-up installation appointment.
DSID can also advise and coordinate with your practice's own AV or IT specialist if you prefer to use an existing vendor relationship.
